Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. A well-hit corner resulted in Luis Andino heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Argenis Coira in the 11th minute of the match. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 13th minute, when Zigor Barroso sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Agustín Saelices in the 18th minute of play forced Cometuétano's goalkeeper Miks Lecis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Argenis Coira succeeded in the game's 22nd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-0. Zigor Barroso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 26 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Camilo Gisbert. In the 27th minute, Luis Andino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zigor Barroso in the 29th minute. In the 31st minute of the match Cometuétano got a corner. A nice corner shot did that Antoni Paris got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Julio Vera quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 37th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Miks Lecis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind Cometuétano's goalkeeper Miks Lecis, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 43rd minute, Alejandro Sevilla hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 44th minute, Luis Andino got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Zigor Barroso made the kick off in the second half. Zigor Barroso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cometuétano's Miks Lecis proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to save Cometuétano from getting a goal against them. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Argenis Coira couldn't finish the play. Cometuétano made a substitution. Kepa Portillo replaced Alejandro Sevilla. In the 67th minute, Cometuétano's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Cristian Sancho fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Zigor Barroso scored 3-0 in the 69th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Julio Vera, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 72 minutes into the game, Alcadio Abajas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cometuétano's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick.
