Guillermo Mariano's late challenge caught a C Ａ R D I N Ａ L's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Guillermo Mariano helped the player get up and apologised. After 9 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Guillermo Mariano. If Sandu Paraschivescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Iulian Enceanu hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. Șerban Finteșteanu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 14th minute of play. After a rather tough play, C Ａ R D I N Ａ L's Iulian Enceanu got a free kick in the 17th minute. In the 19th minute, Patricio Costa made a precise shot to the right of Șerban Finteșteanu. C Ａ R D I N Ａ L's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Șerban Finteșteanu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tomas Illescas went, in the 22nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. In the 25th minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Șerban Finteșteanu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A sloppy throw-in by Salvador Gisbert in the 27th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by C Ａ R D I N Ａ L's Valeriu Donecea. In the 36th minute of the game Jose Correa made a throw-in which Tomas Illescas played forward. Thanks to some nice moves Valeriu Donecea could shoot a difficult shot in the 39th minute, which Jonathan Ferrant however easily saved by the left post. Sandu Paraschivescu might have been able to make a better finish in the 42nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jonathan Ferrant. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sandu Paraschivescu ran back to his position shaking his head. Guillermo Mariano made in the 46th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Tomas Illescas immediately put the ball in play.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sandu Paraschivescu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alex Chicote during the 53rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 52 minutes into the game, one of Venezuela:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Jonathan Ferrant went to the wrong direction when Ciprian Boșneag was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Patricio Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Șerban Finteșteanu having to interfere. Venezuela's attentive Salvador Gisbert managed to snatch the ball when Iulian Enceanu made a throw-in in the 60th minute of the game. Tomas Illescas might have been able to make a better finish in the 61st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Șerban Finteșteanu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tomas Illescas ran back to his position shaking his head. Venezuela's Tomas Illescas got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Patricio Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Șerban Finteșteanu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tomas Illescas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but Șerban Finteșteanu made a huge save. In the 69th minute, Patricio Costa reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Șerban Finteșteanu. The goal made the score 0-4. The supporters of C Ａ R D I N Ａ L booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joshua Secada didn't get a good kick on the ball. Șerban Finteșteanu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tomas Illescas in the 79th minute. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Jonathan Venegas got a free kick in the 79th minute. Ciprian Boșneag made in the 83rd minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Valeriu Donecea however managed to control. A sloppy throw-in by Alex Chicote in the 91st minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by C Ａ R D I N Ａ L's Iulian Enceanu.
