Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 15th minute after SE Palestra Itália's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. Tony Chaves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 17th minute of the match. The Ecuador fans' excitement grew in the 21st match minute when Ecuador's Felix Montenegro looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The audience thought a goal was coming when Clayton Sergi got free with Julio Vera in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Daniel Zorita in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tony Chaves saved SE Palestra Itália from getting behind. When the match clock showed 35 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Daniel Zorita sped through SE Palestra Itália's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Tony Chaves. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tony Chaves breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 39th minute Clayton Sergi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Clayton Sergi took the ball and in the 39 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julio Vera. Julio Vera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. In the 47th match minute, SE Palestra Itália was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Caetano Félix to maneuver through the defense.

52 minutes into the game, Daniel Zorita recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Tony Chaves. Daniel Zorita showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-3. Tony Chaves was a little too slow when Cristian Sancho got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 56th minute. The score was now 1-4. SE Palestra Itália's Bruno Dias was substituted for Caetano Félix. The supporters of Ecuador booed when SE Palestra Itália was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Clayton Sergi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cristian Sancho had several of the SE Palestra Itália's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 65 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-5 score and a disappointed Tony Chaves as he didn't even see the shot coming. In the 68th minute the ball was on its way in behind SE Palestra Itália's goalkeeper Tony Chaves, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. SE Palestra Itália made a substitution. Cristóvão Madureira replaced Acar Buğrahan. After 71 minutes SE Palestra Itália's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cristian Sancho in the 75th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tony Chaves saved SE Palestra Itália from getting behind. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Betão Vargas, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. If Betão Vargas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tony Chaves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luis Andino in the 83rd minute of the match. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 84th minute after SE Palestra Itália's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. Ecuador's supporters stood up full of expectation in the 88th minute of the game, when Daniel Zorita after an extraordinary solo performance found himself with a golden opportunity in front of SE Palestra Itália's goal. Daniel Zorita was unfortunally a little to anxious and the ball went outside the goal. SE Palestra Itália's Clayton Sergi got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Primitivo Andino hit a great ball. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than SE Palestra Itália throughout the match.
