If Alberto Tafalla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 8th minute Alberto Tafalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Camilo Isauro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Luca Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mexico's supporters rose to their feet, but Luca Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Camilo Isauro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to los nadies getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Abel Koldobika hit a great ball. In the 15th minute of the match Joel Gaona shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Camilo Isauro showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 16 minutes into the match, los nadies's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Tafalla came free, but Camilo Isauro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. los nadies's Camilo Isauro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 26th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eldridge Marshall got free with Dante Lacasa in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, Mexico's Dante Lacasa got control of the ball when Juan Laffitte tried to sneak it across the goal line. Camilo Isauro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 35th minute of play. After a rather tough play, los nadies's Siro Olivar got a free kick in the 36th minute. The supporters of Mexico booed when los nadies was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jude Bellinger didn't get a good kick on the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Juan Laffitte in the 55th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alberto Tafalla scored 0-2 in the 81st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Camilo Isauro, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The los nadies fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Mexico were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
