The supporters of Club Getafe Deportivo booed when USA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edward Mcdonald didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Curcio Carballeira got free with Marco Day in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cassius Byrne in the 19th minute of play forced Club Getafe Deportivo's goalkeeper Jairo Castellano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jenson Smith kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. Marco Day made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when Curcio Carballeira sent off a good shot on target. Marco Day made an important save on a dangerous shot by Curcio Carballeira in the 33rd minute. 36 minutes into the match, Club Getafe Deportivo's goal looked a bit too open when Cassius Byrne came free, but Jairo Castellano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jairo Castellano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Monty Rogers in the 38th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Monty Rogers in the 41st minute of play forced Club Getafe Deportivo's goalkeeper Jairo Castellano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 42nd match minute, Club Getafe Deportivo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Henrico Del Bosque to maneuver through the defense. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Cassius Byrne to strike the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Club Getafe Deportivo's Jairo Castellano got control of the ball when Cassius Byrne tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jairo Castellano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cassius Byrne, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marco Day stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Curcio Carballeira's shot from short distance in the 58th minute. Club Getafe Deportivo's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Orlo Sarrate in the 59th minute. Jairo Castellano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Monty Rogers, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Cassius Byrne managed to get in a good position for a shot. USA's supporters rose to their feet, but Cassius Byrne was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jairo Castellano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Club Getafe Deportivo's Víctor Feal was substituted for Laurgain Lama. After having played for 72 minutes, Edward Mcdonald managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. USA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edward Mcdonald was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 75 minutes into the match, Club Getafe Deportivo's goalkeeper Jairo Castellano had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sam Campbell. Monty Rogers took the ball and in the 79 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jairo Castellano. Jairo Castellano dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. When Curcio Carballeira came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Club Getafe Deportivo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Curcio Carballeira couldn't finish the play. The throw-in from Diego Bradley in the 89th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Club Getafe Deportivo's Xiao Yang Xuan. Jairo Castellano made a fantastic save in the 92nd minute, when Sam Campbell sent off a good shot on target. USA's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
