Ziemowit Mis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. After 7 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Eliseo Noboa. Fırat Çakıroğlu received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Benito Sanz came out and tried to block the shot, but Fırat Çakıroğlu slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 8th minute. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save Costa Rica from getting a goal against them. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Fırat Çakıroğlu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. After having played for 25 minutes, Fırat Çakıroğlu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Senator S.A.K's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fırat Çakıroğlu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 28th minute, Fırat Çakıroğlu made a precise shot to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fırat Çakıroğlu, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. 37 minutes into the match, Senator S.A.K's Fırat Çakıroğlu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Benito Sanz narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 39th minute of the match Senator S.A.K got a corner. Costa Rica's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Alim Eslem ran over to the corner to take the kick. Efrain Moruga tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Benito Sanz. An unnecessary self made goal, 5-0 in the 39th minute. After 43 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Costa Rica!
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Fırat Çakıroğlu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The throw-in from Hugo Ferrant in the 51st minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Senator S.A.K's Alim Eslem. In the 53rd minute Fırat Çakıroğlu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 55 minutes into the game, Senator S.A.K's Fırat Çakıroğlu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Benito Sanz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 7-0. If Ignacio Argi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Fırat Çakıroğlu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Senator S.A.K's Abdurrahman Tezeren quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Senator S.A.K fully deserved thier win.
