If Henrico Del Bosque had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Jairo Castellano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 22nd minute of the match. In the 27th minute, Emmanuel Reyes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Curcio Carballeira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Curcio Carballeira could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 36th minute of the match, but Rolando Noboa made a huge save. Luz Tejedor's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jairo Castellano read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. In the 40th minute of the match Peru got a corner. Club Getafe Deportivo's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Luz Tejedor ran over to the corner to take the kick. Jairo Castellano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Murillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Club Getafe Deportivo's Jairo Castellano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luz Tejedor in the 44th minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

If Curcio Carballeira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Curcio Carballeira in the 52nd minute of the match. Luz Tejedor was extremely unlucky when he, in the 57th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Curcio Carballeira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Curcio Carballeira in the 61st minute of play. Curcio Carballeira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Club Getafe Deportivo's Vlad Ţăranu was substituted for Henrico Del Bosque. Jairo Castellano made a fantastic save in the 74th minute, when Luz Tejedor sent off a good shot on target. Through an outstanding action, after 77 minutes, Jairo Castellano successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Peru's Eliseo Mina managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Xulian Calvo in the 80 minute of the game. Jairo Castellano made an important save on a dangerous shot by Julian Murillo in the 84th minute. Club Getafe Deportivo's Jairo Castellano proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 88th minute of the match, managed to save Club Getafe Deportivo from getting a goal against them. 90 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Curcio Carballeira came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 91st minute, Curcio Carballeira made a precise shot to the right of Rolando Noboa. Peru's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Peru's Eliseo Alcocer was substituted for Moises Gayoso. The throw-in from Xulian Calvo in the 95th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Peru's Eliseo Mina. Club Getafe Deportivo's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
