Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Joel Gaona got the match started through his kick off. David Ospina dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. 35 minutes into the match, Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Numbers Alex. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lautaro Mancebo in the 37th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck David Ospina prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 40th minute Alberto Tafalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but David Ospina saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The León FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Mexico were winning 0-1.

The supporters of León FC booed when Mexico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lorenzo Cazalla didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Mexico's zone, Angel Frutos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dante Lacasa came out of the goal and Angel Frutos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Joel Gaona fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without David Ospina having to interfere. After having played for 62 minutes, Lautaro Mancebo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mexico's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lautaro Mancebo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Raimundo Larra's late challenge caught a Mexico's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Raimundo Larra helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, León FC's Raimundo Larra got a free kick in the 73rd minute. León FC's Ladislao Primo was substituted for Numbers Alex. Raimundo Larra kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. Mexico had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
