Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The supporters of Costa Rica booed when Madeiro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Peli Caminero didn't get a good kick on the ball. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Teodosio Eli in the 8th minute of play. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Hugo Ferrant hit a great ball. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to save Costa Rica from getting a goal against them. If Teodosio Eli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. José Pedro Dantas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Benito Sanz made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Axel Tasis in the 36th minute of play forced Madeiro's goalkeeper Szymon Sochacki to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 42 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Lucian Ortega came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 42 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Alan Moruga. Costa Rica's Axel Tasis got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Axel Tasis was the one to do the kick off. Eliseo Noboa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Szymon Sochacki tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 53rd minute, Efrain Moruga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eliseo Noboa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Szymon Sochacki having to interfere. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Teodosio Eli in the 65th minute of play. Eliseo Noboa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 69th minute, Alan Moruga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 73 minutes, Juan Rubio mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Costa Rica and the Madeiro players grew even worse after the yellow card. Juan Rubio hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. In the 82nd match minute, Madeiro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Demesio Barberá to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Teodosio Eli in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Benito Sanz saved Costa Rica from getting behind. Teodosio Eli kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Teodosio Eli in the 92nd minute of play. In the 96th minute, Costa Rica's Eliseo Noboa ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Szymon Sochacki. Szymon Sochacki yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. Madeiro were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
