Elpidio Amor showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julian Murillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. In the 28th minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elpidio Amor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 34 minutes into the match, Peru's Julian Murillo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Elpidio Amor narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After taking down the ball on Peru's corner Luz Tejedor fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Elpidio Amor quite easily take care of the ball. Peru's Eliseo Mina quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Felipe Venerando, made in the 37th minute of the game. After 46 played minutes Timo! got a freekick which was hit by Felipe Venerando. 47 minutes into the match, Timo!'s goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Elpidio Amor reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

With an all-out effort, Peru's Elpidio Amor threw himself towards the right post 74 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Julian Murillo, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Peru made a substitution. Antonio Tenorio replaced Luz Tejedor. Eliseo Mina sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 88 minutes into the match, Ilie Hurmuz notched a goal, 4-2, to the right of Peru's Rolando Noboa. Rolando Noboa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Timo!'s goalie and right to Antonio Tenorio. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Timo!'s manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. 95 minutes into the game, Timo!'s Tomas Gelacio nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rolando Noboa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-2. Peru's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
