The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A sloppy throw-in by Luis Cazalla in the 9th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Lex Academy's Fausto Castulo. 18 minutes into the match, Colombia's goal looked a bit too open when Miloslav Krupička came free, but Pedro Manzanares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bernardo Novaes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Lei Bin Yang made in the 24th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Bernardo Novaes immediately put the ball in play. In the 27th minute Lex Academy were awarded a corner. Roman Jursa went to the cornerflag to take it. Genaro Serapio was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. In the 33rd minute Axel Montenegro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tomáš Houdek saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Colombia's zone, Miloslav Krupička stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Axel Montenegros short, quick shot in the 64thth minute got Tomáš Houdek to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in.
