Jan Lindström made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sven-Olof Vestlund in the 7th minute. Joar Scheie made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Radamel Oakley in the 11th minute of play. In the 12th match minute, CAN ERZURUM was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Javier Zanetti to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Victor Santxol in the 16th minute of play forced CAN ERZURUM's goalkeeper Joar Scheie to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Surahammar's Radamel Oakley managed to work through CAN ERZURUM's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Radamel Oakley dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Sven-Olof Vestlund managed to get in a good position for a shot. CAN ERZURUM's supporters rose to their feet, but Sven-Olof Vestlund was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jan Lindström breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Joar Scheie showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vincent Benett in the 37th minute of the match. A sloppy throw-in by Billy Fristedt in the 39th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by CAN ERZURUM's Santiago Aureo. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sven-Olof Vestlund got free with Jan Lindström in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Surahammar's Radamel Oakley got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jan Lindström made a fantastic save in the 47th minute, when Sven-Olof Vestlund sent off a good shot on target. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

In the 52nd minute, Sven-Olof Vestlund ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jan Lindström was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. In the 55th minute Radamel Oakley shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joar Scheie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 59 minutes into the match, Sven-Olof Vestlund notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Surahammar's Jan Lindström. Jan Lindström was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Surahammar made a substitution. André Pettersson replaced Victor Santxol. Joar Scheie took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Radamel Oakley, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Surahammar's Radamel Oakley was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 69th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Joar Scheie showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Radamel Oakley in the 80th minute of the match. Joar Scheie made an important save on a dangerous shot by André Pettersson in the 82nd minute. CAN ERZURUM made a substitution. Charles Puyol replaced Rolando Betadur. Jan Lindström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Okanalp Doğu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Atabek Tecimen in the 93rd minute of play forced Surahammar's goalkeeper Jan Lindström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. André Pettersson's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Joar Scheie firmly grabbed it by the left post.
