The crowd rose to their feet as Lekko Spoceni's Sang Gama slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Marcos Cotilla. That made the score 1-1 after 9 minutes of play. In the 12thth minute of the game Sang Gama who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Panama's Marcos Cotilla was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Marcos Cotilla made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. Sang Gama blasted a shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Marcos Cotilla having to make a save. In the 42nd minute, Lekko Spoceni's Sang Gama ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Marcos Cotilla. Marcos Cotilla yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 4-1. Hugon Naumowicz's late challenge caught a Panama's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hugon Naumowicz helped the player get up and apologised. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 47th minute of the game. One of Lekko Spoceni:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Panama:s goal. Mikolaj Szotek had in the 48thth minute some difficulties stopping Abraham Alguacil's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball.

After some careless play in the Panama defense, Sang Gama kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marcos Cotilla. The Panama fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marcos Cotilla should have stopped the shot. Lekko Spoceni's Eder Aleixo was substituted for Jiří Bažant. After a rather tough play, Panama's Jose Carita got a free kick in the 64th minute. Lekko Spoceni's Marc-André Van Bastén was substituted for Sang Gama. In the 65th minute, Jose Carita hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marc-André Van Bastén received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Marcos Cotilla tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marcos Cotilla was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
