Valentin Wæversø made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 16th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Felix Luque during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 马正益 could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Dante Lacasa made a huge save. After 22 played minutes 无锡联队 got a freekick which was hit by 江响夕. In the 24th minute Luca Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valentin Wæversø saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 25th minute of the match Mexico got a corner. 无锡联队's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Joel Gaona ran over to the corner to take the kick. After 32 played minutes, Mexico's Joel Gaona shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Valentin Wæversø came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Mexico reached it. 38 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Aare Lõhmus came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aare Lõhmus, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Valentin Wæversø took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lautaro Mancebo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 43 minutes, Aare Lõhmus took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Dante Lacasa to make any attempt to save it. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

In the 54th minute of the match Joel Gaona shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Valentin Wæversø showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Joel Gaona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Joel Gaona came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the Mexico fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joel Gaona couldn't finish the play. Joel Gaona received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Valentin Wæversø tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 69th minute of the match 江响夕 sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dante Lacasa skillfully saved the ball. The supporters of Mexico booed when 无锡联队 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dinei Cavalcante didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Luca Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 75th minute, Alberto Tafalla left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Mexico fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lautaro Mancebo got free with Valentin Wæversø in the 79th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 无锡联队 made a substitution. 赵南珂 replaced Genaro Remicio. Joel Gaona made a great header on Mexico's corner, it was just that 无锡联队's Valentin Wæversø managed to reach the ball for a save. Lautaro Mancebo who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 82ndth minute tested the skills of Valentin Wæversø when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 无锡联队's Valentin Wæversø played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 84th minute of play. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Mexico had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
