Jastreb's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ilko Smoje was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Jastreb booed when Colombia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pascual Carballar didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Jastreb fans' excitement grew in the 24th match minute when Jastreb's Börje Forsberg looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After taking down the ball on Jastreb's corner Börje Forsberg fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Pedro Manzanares quite easily take care of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Axel Montenegro in the 40th minute of play forced Jastreb's goalkeeper Navarro Montoya to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 46 played minutes Jastreb got a freekick which was hit by Sixto Figueroa. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

If Abram Sarmiento had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Navarro Montoya took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Axel Montenegro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sixto Figueroa's late challenge caught a Colombia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sixto Figueroa helped the player get up and apologised. After 58 minutes of play, Colombia's Abram Sarmiento made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Navarro Montoya was left in no man's land by his defense there! Navarro Montoya made an important save on a dangerous shot by Santino Seco in the 65th minute. Navarro Montoya showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abram Sarmiento, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. In the 72nd minute, Axel Montenegro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A very good chance. 94 minutes into the match, Bo Ronaldo notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Colombia's Pedro Manzanares. Pedro Manzanares was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
