Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edmund Kochniarczyk in the 3rd minute of play. Roland Treppa had several of the Ecuador's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 5 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Julio Vera as he didn't even see the shot coming. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Michal Betonowy having to interfere. In the 10th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Agustín Saelices to maneuver through the defense. Roland Treppa struck a weak shot in the 10th minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SKS Chmielowice. When Cristian Sancho came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Sancho couldn't finish the play. In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind SKS Chmielowice's goalkeeper Michal Betonowy, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A nice corner shot did that Daniel Zorita got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Michal Betonowy quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save.

Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Roland Treppa in the 85th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a little luck, SKS Chmielowice's Michal Betonowy got control of the ball when Cristian Sancho tried to sneak it across the goal line. Bernardo Lira's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bernardo Lira helped the player get up and apologised. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Michal Betonowy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The SKS Chmielowice players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
