AC Ony's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. In the 15th minute, Sven-Erik Hermansson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Donald Tusk stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Donald Tusk tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cisco Rubial breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Andino in the 24th minute of play forced AC Ony's goalkeeper Cisco Rubial to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With an all-out effort, AC Ony's Julio Vera threw himself towards the right post 27 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Ciprian Caba, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Donald Tusk received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 31st match minute, AC Ony was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ernest Arseanu to maneuver through the defense. 1-0 became the score in the 34th minute when Sven-Erik Hermansson elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 38th minute of play forced AC Ony's goalkeeper Cisco Rubial to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

53 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cisco Rubial narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Cisco Rubial made an important save on a dangerous shot by Felix Montenegro in the 58th minute. Sven-Erik Hermansson struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for AC Ony. AC Ony's Pompiliu Traian was substituted for Cristian Banciu. Cisco Rubial showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 74th minute of the match. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Felix Montenegro scored 1-1 in the 78th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cisco Rubial, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 85th minute. After 86th play minutes Daniel Zorita shot 1-2, a short shot which went by Cisco Rubial and just under the crossbar into goal. Donald Tusk kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match.
