During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. Ecuador's Felix Montes was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Stein Spoelberch in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. King Eken made a great header on Club Brugge's corner, it was just that Ecuador's Julio Vera managed to reach the ball for a save. Stein Spoelberch showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 23rd minute of the match. The goalkeeper smacked the ball away after a great corner, but Felix Montenegro advanced and headed the ball into goal, 0-1 in the 25th minute. After having played for 29 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Felix Montenegro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Felix Montenegro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Stein Spoelberch breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 78th minute, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-3. King Eken recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 95th minute, Jan-Simon Elsen made a precise shot to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Club Brugge throughout the match.
