Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kjell Pihl in the 10th minute of play. Diego Caracciolo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lautaro Puig in the 11th minute of the match. With a little luck, Costa Rica's Benito Sanz got control of the ball when Per Österberg tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kjell Pihl in the 18th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Kjell Pihl had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Kjell Pihl fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. Benito Sanz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Thomas Lundström in the 31st minute. Husvagnens FF's attentive Kjell Pihl managed to snatch the ball when Lautaro Puig made a throw-in in the 32nd minute of the game. Thomas Lundström could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Benito Sanz made a huge save. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kjell Pihl in the 34th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Husvagnens FF's Kjell Pihl slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Benito Sanz. That made the score 2-0 after 36 minutes of play. 38 minutes into the game, Thomas Lundström recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Benito Sanz. Thomas Lundström showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-0. Benito Sanz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kjell Pihl's shot from short distance in the 43rd minute. 45 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Thomas Lundström. 46 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Kjell Pihl came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 46th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eliseo Noboa to maneuver through the defense. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kjell Pihl to make the kick off. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kjell Pihl, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. In the 55th match minute, Husvagnens FF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eric Andberg to maneuver through the defense. Costa Rica's Axel Tasis shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 56th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Diego Caracciolo but with some difficulty. When Alan Moruga fell near the penalty area in the 59th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Costa Rica's protests and gave Alan Moruga a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Costa Rica booed when Husvagnens FF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kjell Pihl didn't get a good kick on the ball. 64 minutes into the game, Husvagnens FF's Kjell Pihl nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Benito Sanz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. Diego Caracciolo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Axel Tasis in the 67th minute. Lautaro Puig sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kjell Pihl in the 72nd minute of the match. When Husvagnens FF's Kjell Pihl in the 77th minute got a chance for a shot 77th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Costa Rica's goalie prevented a goal. Abel Carballo hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. 82 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Thomas Lundström came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kjell Pihl in the 83rd minute of play. Thomas Lundström scored 5-0 in the 84th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benito Sanz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Costa Rica's Axel Tasis got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Kjell Pihl kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. Husvagnens FF walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
