Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) FC Werdenberg's Tudor Caragea started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Tudor Caragea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. Manuel Lajoie showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Agustín Saelices in the 14th minute of the match. 16 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Manuel Lajoie narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Evgeniy Babich in the 18th minute of play. In the 19th minute of the match FC Werdenberg got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Simon Gunnarsson ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 21st minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Evgeniy Babich in the 26th minute of the match. Manuel Lajoie made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 29th minute of play. Cristian Sancho took the ball and in the 30 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Manuel Lajoie. Manuel Lajoie dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Manuel Lajoie took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Agustín Saelices in the 37th minute of play forced FC Werdenberg's goalkeeper Manuel Lajoie to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 40th minute after FC Werdenberg's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. After taking down the ball on Ecuador's corner Felix Montenegro fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Manuel Lajoie quite easily take care of the ball. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 45th minute of play forced FC Werdenberg's goalkeeper Manuel Lajoie to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to FC Werdenberg getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Lazarus Kurmann hit a great ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Daniel Zorita made the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, FC Werdenberg's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Manuel Lajoie reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 54 minutes, Tudor Caragea managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Werdenberg's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tudor Caragea was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 57th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. FC Werdenberg's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Manuel Lajoie came out of the goal in the 61st minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Daniel Zorita. But to his dismay, Daniel Zorita quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Manuel Lajoie came out of the goal in the 63rd minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Agustín Saelices. But to his dismay, Agustín Saelices quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. Lazarus Kurmann's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lazarus Kurmann helped the player get up and apologised. Lazarus Kurmann kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. In the 71st minute Evgeniy Babich shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Manuel Lajoie made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Sancho in the 72nd minute. In the 73rd minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on Ecuador's corner Daniel Zorita fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Manuel Lajoie quite easily take care of the ball. Felix Montess short, quick shot in the 76thth minute got Manuel Lajoie to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. FC Werdenberg's Manuel Lajoie played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Camilo Gisbert in the 77th minute of play. In the 78th match minute, FC Werdenberg was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tudor Caragea to maneuver through the defense. FC Werdenberg's Manuel Lajoie played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 80th minute of play. Lazarus Kurmann's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 82nd minute of play. After 83 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Simon Gunnarsson who took care of the corner kick. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Manuel Lajoie tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Evgeniy Babich in the 87th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ferdinand Lobonț's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ferdinand Lobonț helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to FC Werdenberg getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Ferdinand Lobonț hit a great ball. When Agustín Saelices came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Agustín Saelices couldn't finish the play. Cristian Sancho did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-4 to the left of a surprised Manuel Lajoie 93 minutes into the match. The Ecuador players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
