It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Mariano Lacasa kicked off to start the match. If Mariano Lacasa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Taavi Hulkkonen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mariano Lacasa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Taavi Hulkkonen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 37th minute of the match. If Mariano Lacasa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Taavi Hulkkonen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 43rd minute of play. Thiago Pliego made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Heimo Heliskoski in the 45th minute of play. 46 minutes had been played when some careless play by Chile's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Esa Joenväärä was slow to take the kick. During this time AC Sarsaparilla's players had a chance to rest. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Heikki Sulonen to make the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Chile's goal looked a bit too open when Juha-Pekka Glad came free, but Thiago Pliego reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpected shot in the 53rd minute by Mariano Lacasa got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The corner went over the outstretched arms of AC Sarsaparilla's goalie and right to Xavier Figueroa. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. AC Sarsaparilla's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. In the 68th minute Chile were awarded a corner. Mariano Lacasa went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 70th minute Mariano Lacasa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Taavi Hulkkonen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 70 minutes into the game, Mariano Lacasa recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Taavi Hulkkonen. Mariano Lacasa showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-2. AC Sarsaparilla's César Talavera was substituted for Reko Brinck. Toni Hilden kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. The long shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 78th minute really tested Taavi Hulkkonen's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. AC Sarsaparilla's Taavi Hulkkonen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Orlando Casaus in the 80th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mariano Lacasa got free with Taavi Hulkkonen in the 81st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Pedro Indiano hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. Heikki Sulonen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Thiago Pliego tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. AC Sarsaparilla's Taavi Hulkkonen proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to save AC Sarsaparilla from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Heimo Heliskoski in the 86th minute of play forced Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. AC Sarsaparilla were awarded a corner in the 87th minute after Chile's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Esa Joenväärä took the corner. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Chile's goalie and right to Juha-Pekka Glad. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Chile's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Taavi Hulkkonen made a fantastic save in the 92nd minute, when Mariano Lacasa sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, AC Sarsaparilla's Edvard Laakkonen got a free kick in the 94th minute. Chile played a much better game than AC Sarsaparilla and deserved their victory. The AC Sarsaparilla players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
