Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Heikki Sulonen to make the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Chile's goal looked a bit too open when Juha-Pekka Glad came free, but Thiago Pliego reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The corner went over the outstretched arms of AC Sarsaparilla's goalie and right to Xavier Figueroa. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. AC Sarsaparilla's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. In the 68th minute Chile were awarded a corner. Mariano Lacasa went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 70th minute Mariano Lacasa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Taavi Hulkkonen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 70 minutes into the game, Mariano Lacasa recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Taavi Hulkkonen. Mariano Lacasa showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-2. AC Sarsaparilla's César Talavera was substituted for Reko Brinck. Toni Hilden kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. The long shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 78th minute really tested Taavi Hulkkonen's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. AC Sarsaparilla's Taavi Hulkkonen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Orlando Casaus in the 80th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mariano Lacasa got free with Taavi Hulkkonen in the 81st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Pedro Indiano hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. Heikki Sulonen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. The AC Sarsaparilla players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
