Dušan Ančic came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Club Atlético de Newell's Pastor Eufemio got a free kick in the 94th minute. When the referee blew the final whistle, Club Atlético de Newell could leave the field as winners, despite Ecuador having more of the ball for most of the match.
