Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) After 3 minutes of play, Honduras's Edmundo Espiga made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tony Githinji Muhoho was left in no man's land by his defense there! Tony Githinji Muhoho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edmundo Espiga in the 9th minute of play. In the 17th minute Sebastian Villa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tony Githinji Muhoho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 22nd minute, Edmundo Espiga made a precise shot to the right of Tony Githinji Muhoho. Rothwell Park's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Tony Githinji Muhoho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edmundo Espiga, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Tony Githinji Muhoho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edmundo Espiga in the 27th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Sebastian Villa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Honduras's supporters rose to their feet, but Sebastian Villa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tony Githinji Muhoho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Emanuel Ocampo during the 40th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Rothwell Park booed when Honduras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emanuel Ocampo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Honduras's zone, Walter Mutuku stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lautaro Navarro came out of the goal and Walter Mutuku tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Walter Mutuku was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 46th minute. Rothwell Park's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Edmundo Espiga stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With an all-out effort, Honduras's Tony Githinji Muhoho threw himself towards the right post 52 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Edmundo Espiga, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After 57 played minutes Honduras got a freekick which was hit by Valentín Carvallo. 59 minutes into the match, Honduras's goal looked a bit too open when Walter Mutuku came free, but Lautaro Navarro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 69th minute, Walter Mutuku left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Rothwell Park fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Shekhar Biwott blasted a shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lautaro Navarro having to make a save. Shekhar Biwott might have been able to make a better finish in the 77th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lautaro Navarro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Shekhar Biwott ran back to his position shaking his head. Valentín Carvallo kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. William Mohamed recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Edmundo Espiga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tony Githinji Muhoho having to interfere. A sloppy throw-in by John Kipketer in the 84th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Honduras's Valentín Carvallo. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Edmundo Espiga in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tony Githinji Muhoho saved Rothwell Park from getting behind.
