Pascal Vledder didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mexico. In the 18th minute of the match De Digitale Dribbelaars got a corner. Mexico's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Hugo Blank ran over to the corner to take the kick. De Digitale Dribbelaars's Hugo Blank was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Dante Lacasa in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luca Zorita in the 29th minute of play forced De Digitale Dribbelaars's goalkeeper Pascal Vledder to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mexico were awarded a corner in the 30th minute after De Digitale Dribbelaars's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Joel Gaona took the corner. The corner led Mexico's Macos Graciani to fire away a dangerous shot which Pascal Vledder despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Pascal Vledder made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 36th minute of play. After the first half Mexico were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Zhao Xiang Xuan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Mexico's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
