Panama's defense didn't have a chance, in the 14th minute, when Hasan Genişyürek scored to the left of an out of position Marcos Cotilla, making the score, 1-0. Marcos Cotilla made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lisandro Quentin in the 16th minute. Marcos Cotilla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hüsmen Ünlem, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. In the 22nd minute Evaristo Machado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Cotilla saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Galatasaray A.Ş.'s Ciccio Graziani slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Marcos Cotilla. That made the score 2-0 after 27 minutes of play. Marcos Cotilla made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Evaristo Machado sent off a good shot on target. In the 39th minute, Hıncal Kongur hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marcos Cotilla was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Hüsmen Ünlem showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-0 in the 41 minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

When the match had gone on for 57 minutes, Ciccio Graziani put it in 4-0 from a short distance just to the right of Marcos Cotilla. Panama's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ciccio Graziani was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. Marcos Cotilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hasan Genişyürek in the 70th minute of play. The supporters of Panama booed when Galatasaray A.Ş. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Evaristo Machado didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ingar Myklebust showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Berganza, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Ingar Myklebust came out of the goal in the 82nd minute to try and stop a shot by Panama's Tomas Berganza. But to his dismay, Tomas Berganza quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-1. The crowd rose to their feet as Panama's Isidoro Sarmiento slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ingar Myklebust. That made the score 5-2 after 94 minutes of play.
