In the 3rd minute, Cristian Sancho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Daniel Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Marieholm's Sture Söderberg got a free kick in the 11th minute. Marieholm's Christian Mårtensson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agustín Saelices in the 15th minute of play. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 16th minute after Marieholm's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. Juan Sebastián Puig made a great header on Ecuador's corner, it was just that Marieholm's Christian Mårtensson managed to reach the ball for a save. Christian Mårtensson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 17th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Juan Sebastián Puig got a free kick in the 21st minute. In the 23rd minute, Marieholm's Malcolm Påk ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Julio Vera. Julio Vera yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Through an outstanding action, after 27 minutes, Julio Vera successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 29th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christian Mårtensson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Björn Jespersson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Marieholm's supporters rose to their feet, but Björn Jespersson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 32nd minute of play forced Marieholm's goalkeeper Christian Mårtensson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 33rd match minute, Marieholm was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Christer Haström to maneuver through the defense. 35 minutes into the match, Marieholm's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Christian Mårtensson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Christian Mårtensson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Björn Jespersson's shot from short distance in the 41st minute. When the match had gone on for 42 minutes, Björn Jespersson put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Julio Vera. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Sancho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Christian Mårtensson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Björn Jespersson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Christian Mårtensson made a fantastic save in the 51st minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. Felix Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Christian Mårtensson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. With his leg Christian Mårtensson managed to avoid a goal in the 77thth minute, when Ecuador's Cristian Sancho fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Daniel Zorita's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Christian Mårtensson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 79th minute of play. In the 80th minute, Jimmy Hedström hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 81st minute, Cristian Sancho made a precise shot to the right of Christian Mårtensson. Marieholm's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. Cristian Sancho might have been able to make a better finish in the 84th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Christian Mårtensson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cristian Sancho ran back to his position shaking his head. Charlie Söderberg hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Christian Mårtensson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. In the 86th minute, Charlie Söderberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Christian Mårtensson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Ecuador were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
