PAOK-RE4's supporters crossed their fingers, but Michalis Telakis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Kyriakos Kortselis came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the PAOK-RE4 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kyriakos Kortselis couldn't finish the play. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Manolis Apostolakis came out and tried to block the shot, but Daniel Zorita slotted it home off the left post making it 0-2 in the 84th minute. In the 87th minute, Michalis Telakis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Michalis Telakis in the 96th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ecuador's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
