Panama's Abraham Alguacil got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tolek Jaworski scored 1-1 in the 23rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Marcos Cotilla, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 27 minutes into the match, Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Velislav Lyutov. Leszek Matuch showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Isidoro Sarmiento in the 31st minute of the match. When Panama's Tomas Berganza in the 36th minute got a chance for a shot 36th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Zbyszko Szotek scored 2-1 in the 43rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Marcos Cotilla, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Adam Kanczuszewski made a kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tomas Berganza during the 51st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 52nd minute of the match Pankracy Burdzel sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Marcos Cotilla skillfully saved the ball. Tomas Berganza could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Leszek Matuch made a huge save. Leszek Matuch showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Isidoro Sarmiento in the 56th minute of the match. Panama's Marcos Cotilla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adam Kanczuszewski in the 59th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tolek Jaworski in the 60th minute of play forced Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 62nd minute, Adam Kanczuszewski made a precise shot to the right of Marcos Cotilla. Panama's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. Marcos Cotilla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adam Kanczuszewski, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Panama's Tomas Berganza slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Leszek Matuch. That made the score 3-2 after 72 minutes of play. Marcos Cotilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adam Kanczuszewski in the 82nd minute of play. Abraham Alguacil came free with the goalkeeper in the 89th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Leszek Matuch could save by the left post. In the 92nd minute, Fryderyk Gamza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Panama were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
