Fergus Maina showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Agustín Saelices, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gutierre Lauri in the 6th minute of play. 8 minutes into the match, Ämmer Sportfreaks's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Fergus Maina reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Fergus Maina in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Felix Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Willem Rinert in the 14th minute of play. In the 15th minute of the match Ämmer Sportfreaks got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Willem Rinert ran over to the corner to take the kick. Ämmer Sportfreaks's Silverio Godoy was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Julio Vera in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Silverio Godoy, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. 21 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fergus Maina narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 22nd minute Gutierre Lauri shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Silverio Godoys short, quick shot in the 38thth minute got Julio Vera to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 38th minute, Gutierre Lauri fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. A collision led to Ämmer Sportfreaks getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Horacio Ignatius hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Ämmer Sportfreaks's Willem Rinert got a free kick in the 42nd minute.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Daniel Zorita to strike the kick off in the second half. When Dan Gerber fell near the penalty area in the 50th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ämmer Sportfreaks's protests and gave Dan Gerber a yellow card for diving instead. Ecuador made a substitution. Luz Palacio replaced Daniel Zorita. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Ämmer Sportfreaks was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dan Gerber didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 53rd minute, Luis Andino got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 58 played minutes Ämmer Sportfreaks got a freekick which was hit by Napoleon Moczkiewicz. Fergus Maina made a fantastic save in the 59th minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target. Luz Palacio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Fergus Maina made a huge save. Ämmer Sportfreaks's Gutierre Lauri got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Ämmer Sportfreaks getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Rey Hirter hit a great ball. Cristian Sancho might have been able to make a better finish in the 75th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fergus Maina. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cristian Sancho ran back to his position shaking his head. Luz Palacio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fergus Maina having to interfere. In the 93rd minute, one of Ecuador:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Ecuador. In the 96th minute there was a penalty for Ämmer Sportfreaks. Gutierre Lauri stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Julio Vera. 1-1. Ecuador were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Ämmer Sportfreaks to leave the ground with a draw.
