The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Alfredinho Gerber made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 3rd minute of play. In the 4th minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfredinho Gerber saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 5th minute of play forced C.U.E. DE COMERCIO's goalkeeper Alfredinho Gerber to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luz Tejedor received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Alfredinho Gerber tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alfredinho Gerber showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 13th minute of the match. Emmanuel Reyes made in the 15th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Milagros Fraga however managed to control. Alfredinho Gerber took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Murillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alfredinho Gerber made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 27th minute of play. Rolando Noboa was a little too slow when Teodoro Nikola got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 29th minute. The score was now 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 32nd minute of play forced C.U.E. DE COMERCIO's goalkeeper Alfredinho Gerber to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sergio Mustafa got free with Rolando Noboa in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Alfredinho Gerber made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 39th minute of play. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sergio Mustafa in the 47th minute of the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Julian Murillo to make the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Seb Gentiletti came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. C.U.E. DE COMERCIO's Sergio Mustafa got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. C.U.E. DE COMERCIO's Salvador Romano was substituted for Sergio Mustafa. 61 minutes into the match, C.U.E. DE COMERCIO's Salvador Romano sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rolando Noboa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Eliseo Mina could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 63rd minute of the match, but Alfredinho Gerber made a huge save. Peru's Eliseo Mina quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Marcos Senesi, made in the 65th minute of the game. Alfredinho Gerber didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Peru's Julian Murillo shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 1-1 in the ordered_time% minute. The supporters of Peru booed when C.U.E. DE COMERCIO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sebastião Gentiletti didn't get a good kick on the ball. Peru's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
