Matthew McKail showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yana Brolin in the 19th minute of play. When Chelsea Headhunters's Gonzalo Otsoko in the 25th minute got a chance for a shot 25th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Julio Vera as he didn't even see the shot coming. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Zorita stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gonzalo Otsoko in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. 56 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Yana Brolin came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Julio Vera didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Chelsea Headhunters's Gonzalo Otsoko shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 2-0 in the ordered_time% minute. 64 minutes into the match, Chelsea Headhunters's Kutluay Acartürk sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Chelsea Headhunters's Kutluay Acartürk got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 88th minute, Gonzalo Otsoko made a precise shot to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Kutluay Acartürk kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. Ecuador's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
