Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Celso Eiró started the match with the kick off. 7 minutes into the match, Mariano Lacasa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Claudemiro Tristão. GD Almargense's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mariano Lacasa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Adérito Pinheiro's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Thiago Pliego firmly grabbed it by the left post. Thiago Pliego showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Celso Eiró, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Claudemiro Tristão stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mariano Lacasa's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. In the 27th match minute, GD Almargense was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Idalécio Veloso to maneuver through the defense. Claudemiro Tristão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 28th minute of play. Benedito Rebelo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Thiago Pliego having to interfere. A hard shot 39 in the game by Celso Eiró from a close distance when the talented Thiago Pliego managed to make a qualified save. Chile's players were relieved. Mariano Lacasa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Claudemiro Tristão having to make a save. Chile's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Mariano Lacasa in the 45th minute. It was a well-played corner which Xavier Figueroa managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mariano Lacasa made a kick off. 54 minutes into the match, Chile's goal looked a bit too open when Gervásio Viana came free, but Thiago Pliego reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. GD Almargense made a substitution. Zarco Patrício replaced Adérito Pinheiro. GD Almargense made a substitution. Carlos Vides replaced Callum Doyle. GD Almargense's Alexandre Valadares was substituted for Benedito Rebelo. Marco Vieira made in the 58th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Alexandre Valadares. If Mariano Lacasa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 68th minute, Chile's Gerardo Pozo seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Gerardo Pozo the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Chile protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Gerardo Pozo had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 68 minutes into the game, one of Chile:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The audience thought a goal was coming when Guillermo Fontirroig got free with Claudemiro Tristão in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 76 minutes into the match, Chile's goal looked a bit too open when Zarco Patrício came free, but Thiago Pliego reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Chile booed when GD Almargense was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marco Vieira didn't get a good kick on the ball. 86 minutes into the match, Chile's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Vides came free, but Thiago Pliego reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Orlando Casaus received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Claudemiro Tristão came out and tried to block the shot, but Orlando Casaus slotted it home off the left post making it 0-3 in the 89th minute. Orlando Casaus struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Claudemiro Tristão didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chile. Chile's Thiago Pliego played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Vides in the 95th minute of play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Chile walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
