An unexpectedly hard shot by Clodoveo Ponce in the 3rd minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The corner led MKS Pogoń Szczecin's Aleksander Majewski to fire away a dangerous shot which Dante Lacasa despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. MKS Pogoń Szczecin's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Aleksander Majewski in the 11th minute. A very nice done corner allowed Alfred Naumowicz to score against Dante Lacasa in Mexico's goal. 1-0 after 12 minutes. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 15th minute of play forced MKS Pogoń Szczecin's goalkeeper Wiktor Dudkowski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Mexico booed when MKS Pogoń Szczecin was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bartosz Wielowiejski didn't get a good kick on the ball. MKS Pogoń Szczecin's Wiktor Dudkowski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 19th minute of play. Joel Gaona hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. In the 25th minute of the match, Roch Chowaniec tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Dante Lacasa saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Dante Lacasa came out of the goal in the 33rd minute to try and stop a shot by MKS Pogoń Szczecin's Clodoveo Ponce. But to his dismay, Clodoveo Ponce quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. After some careless play in the MKS Pogoń Szczecin defense, Luca Zorita kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Wiktor Dudkowski. The MKS Pogoń Szczecin fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Wiktor Dudkowski should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ovando Vera in the 42nd minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wiktor Dudkowski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 44th minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

MKS Pogoń Szczecin made a substitution. Ignacy Rzegotka replaced Roch Chowaniec. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Joel Gaona to strike the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in MKS Pogoń Szczecin's zone, Alberto Tafalla stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wiktor Dudkowski came out of the goal and Alberto Tafalla tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Wiktor Dudkowski made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 57th minute. In the 60th minute Clodoveo Ponce shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice moves Lautaro Mancebo could shoot a difficult shot in the 61st minute, which Wiktor Dudkowski however easily saved by the left post. 67 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Clodoveo Ponce came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of MKS Pogoń Szczecin booed when Mexico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonardo Leoz didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Alberto Tafalla managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mexico's supporters rose to their feet, but Alberto Tafalla was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Wiktor Dudkowski breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Joel Gaona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 85th minute Radomir Bazan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ignacy Rzegotka, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. 93 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Radomir Bazan came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mexico's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
