An unexpectedly hard shot by Jenson Smith in the 18th minute of play forced SV Balverliefd's goalkeeper Yorrick Zoethout to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 20 minutes into the game, Monty Rogers cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Yorrick Zoethout was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 30th minute Melker Gudmundsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marco Day saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 31 minutes into the match, SV Balverliefd's goal looked a bit too open when Monty Rogers came free, but Yorrick Zoethout reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Yorrick Zoethout stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cassius Byrne's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. In the 37th minute, Cassius Byrne ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Yorrick Zoethout was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Yorrick Zoethout showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Monty Rogers in the 40th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in USA's zone, Steven Homan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marco Day came out of the goal and Steven Homan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Steven Homan fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SV Balverliefd's protests and gave Steven Homan a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to SV Balverliefd getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Steven Homan hit a great ball. The audience cheered when Jimmy Stenberg's long shot passed Marco Day's right side. It was 1-2, 46 minutes into the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Cassius Byrne to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of SV Balverliefd booed when USA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Koby Fletcher didn't get a good kick on the ball. When SV Balverliefd's Steven Homan in the 83rd minute got a chance for a shot 83rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye USA's goalie prevented a goal. In the 85th minute, Virgil Lindelöf hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 86 played minutes SV Balverliefd got a freekick which was hit by Virgil Lindelöf. USA's Marco Day played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Steven Homan in the 94th minute of play. The SV Balverliefd fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. USA were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
