In the 13th minute the ball was on its way in behind Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 17 played minutes Doffes Damer got a freekick which was hit by Kaj Lund. After 23 played minutes Doffes Damer got a freekick which was hit by Kaj Lund. Doffes Damer's Gabriel Fanström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luca Zorita in the 25th minute of play. 29 minutes into the match, Inge Braa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dante Lacasa. Mexico's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Inge Braa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Macos Graciani kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. After 35 played minutes Doffes Damer got a freekick which was hit by Kaj Lund. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Lautaro Mancebo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mexico's supporters rose to their feet, but Lautaro Mancebo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gabriel Fanström breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Inge Braa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Inge Braa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Inge Braa stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Lautaro Mancebo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Gabriel Fanström made a huge save. The crowd rose to their feet as Mexico's Joel Gaona slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Gabriel Fanström. That made the score 1-1 after 57 minutes of play. Alberto Tafalla had several of the Doffes Damer's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 60 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-2 score and a disappointed Gabriel Fanström as he didn't even see the shot coming. Doffes Damer's Ronaldo Cristi was substituted for Inge Braa. Thanks to some nice moves Alberto Tafalla could shoot a difficult shot in the 66th minute, which Gabriel Fanström however easily saved by the left post. Doffes Damer made a substitution. Franco Baresi replaced Pier Kopacz. 73 minutes into the match, Doffes Damer's goalkeeper Gabriel Fanström had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lautaro Mancebo. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Gaona in the 75th minute of play forced Doffes Damer's goalkeeper Gabriel Fanström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 81st minute of the match Doffes Damer got a corner. Mexico's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Göran Vedholm ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 82nd match minute, Mexico was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Macos Graciani to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Mexico getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Macos Graciani hit a great ball. Felix Luque lost his temper 93 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. 93 minutes into the game, one of Mexico:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Doffes Damer a penalty, 96 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Ronaldo Cristi, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Mexico's Dante Lacasa. 2-2.
