In the 7th match minute, Peru was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anthony Alvarado to maneuver through the defense. 16 minutes in the game Marcos Gitano did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Esequiel Barco. Esequiel Barco took the ball and in the 19 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rolando Noboa. Rolando Noboa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. In the 22nd match minute, Curumalán AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alfred Nobel to maneuver through the defense. 24 minutes into the match, Freddy Mikelats notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Peru's Rolando Noboa. Rolando Noboa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 28 minutes into the game, Milagros Fraga cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Lin Mo Hong was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Lin Mo Hong made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 34th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Esequiel Barco got free with Rolando Noboa in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 39th minute of play forced Curumalán AFC's goalkeeper Lin Mo Hong to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lin Mo Hong took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eliseo Mina, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 45th minute Esequiel Barco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

Eliseo Mina's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lin Mo Hong read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 72nd minute of play. After 73 minutes Curumalán AFC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Luz Tejedor who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Alonso Berganza almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Curumalán AFC's Lin Mo Hong did a great save. Curumalán AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Peru the free kick. 91 minutes into the match, Rafael Gallo dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Lin Mo Hong, 3-2. When the match had gone on for 96 minutes, Rafael Gallo took a quick shot and it went in 3-3 without a chance for Lin Mo Hong to make any attempt to save it. Peru were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
