In the 14th minute of the match Doffes Damer got a corner. Chile's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Herbert Wincek ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Doffes Damer's corner Pier Kopacz fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Thiago Pliego quite easily take care of the ball. Gabriel Fanström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mariano Lacasa, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Mariano Lacasa might have been able to make a better finish in the 19th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gabriel Fanström. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mariano Lacasa ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 19th minute Mariano Lacasa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gabriel Fanström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gabriel Fanström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 22nd minute of play. Gabriel Fanström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 23rd minute of the match. After some careless play in the Doffes Damer defense, Mariano Lacasa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gabriel Fanström. The Doffes Damer fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gabriel Fanström should have stopped the shot. Gabriel Fanström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mariano Lacasa, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Thiago Pliego made an important save on a dangerous shot by Knut Utfal in the 29th minute. 30 minutes into the match, Chile's Mariano Lacasa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gabriel Fanström narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Thiago Pliego made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Knut Utfal sent off a good shot on target. Orlando Casaus hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Chile's Thiago Pliego got control of the ball when Knut Utfal tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Doffes Damer booed when Chile was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gerardo Pozo didn't get a good kick on the ball. 46 minutes into the game, Doffes Damer's Ronaldo Cristi nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Thiago Pliego made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ronaldo Cristi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd match minute, Chile was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alan Tamayo to maneuver through the defense. If Pier Kopacz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Thiago Pliego stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Inge Braa's shot from short distance in the 91st minute. The supporters of Doffes Damer booed when Chile was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pedro Indiano didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 94th minute, Chile's Mariano Lacasa dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-3. When Doffes Damer's Inge Braa in the 96th minute got a chance for a shot 96th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Chile's goalie prevented a goal. The Chile supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Chile would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
