In the 27th minute, Efrain Moruga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eliseo Noboa kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. If Iban Ortiz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pablo Izaguirre got free with Benito Sanz in the 46th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Costa Rica's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Pablo Izaguirre managed to get in a good position for a shot. 2017★ WWF Comarruga ★S62's supporters rose to their feet, but Pablo Izaguirre was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lautaro Puig hit a great ball. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match.
