With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rolando Noboa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Rolando Noboa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. If Nick Heesen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Through an outstanding action, after 32 minutes, Rolando Noboa successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 33 minutes into the game, Gregorio Urtsin threw the ball into play from the sideline. Peru's Alonso Berganza quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Julian Murillo was the one to do the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Emmanuel Reyes during the 55th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 55th match minute, Peru was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emmanuel Reyes to maneuver through the defense.
