Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Grant Irø in the 6th minute of the match. 11 minutes into the match, Luis Andino had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Damiano Battisti. Eurospeed Asti's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luis Andino was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Eurospeed Asti's Damiano Battisti played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 14th minute of play. If Elia Pietrantoni had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Elia Pietrantoni recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Eurospeed Asti's Damiano Battisti played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 25th minute of play. In the 26th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. Felix Montenegro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Damiano Battisti having to interfere. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Fausto Pinti kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 35th minute of play forced Eurospeed Asti's goalkeeper Damiano Battisti to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Amedeo Moriggi kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. The supporters of Eurospeed Asti booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristian Sancho didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match had gone on for 40 minutes, Elia Pietrantoni put it in 2-2 from a short distance just to the right of Julio Vera. Cristian Sancho blasted a shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Damiano Battisti having to make a save. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Zorita stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the match, Fausto Pinti had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Julio Vera. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fausto Pinti in the 57th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 58th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Damiano Battisti saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Damiano Battisti breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Elia Pietrantoni received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Damiano Battisti came out and tried to block the shot, but Daniel Zorita slotted it home off the left post making it 3-3 in the 69th minute. Daniel Zorita came free with the goalkeeper in the 72nd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Damiano Battisti could save by the left post. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elia Pietrantoni, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fausto Pinti in the 81st minute of play. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. Daniel Zorita blasted a shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Damiano Battisti having to make a save. In the 86th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juan Sebastián Puig to maneuver through the defense. When Amedeo Moriggi fell near the penalty area in the 93rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Eurospeed Asti's protests and gave Amedeo Moriggi a yellow card for diving instead. After some careless play in the Eurospeed Asti defense, Cristian Sancho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Damiano Battisti. The Eurospeed Asti fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Damiano Battisti should have stopped the shot.
