In the 8th minute COPERNICUS TORUŃ were awarded a corner. Artuir Ramsey went to the cornerflag to take it. COPERNICUS TORUŃ's Tahsin Atacan was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Dante Lacasa in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Dante Lacasa stood somewhat misplaced when Tahsin Atacan came free in front of goal and shot 1-0 to the left of him in the 9 minute. 11 minutes into the match, Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Olgun Oktay. Olgun Oktay made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 21stth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Dante Lacasa would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. COPERNICUS TORUŃ's Gordon Horgan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 25th minute of play. In the 40th minute, Lorenzo Cazalla hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dante Lacasa made a fantastic save in the 43rd minute, when Olgun Oktay sent off a good shot on target. COPERNICUS TORUŃ's Gordon Horgan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 45th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in COPERNICUS TORUŃ's zone, Luca Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gordon Horgan came out of the goal and Luca Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Joel Gaona made the kick off in the second half. Gordon Horgan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 50th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Facundo Cadaval got free with Gordon Horgan in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brion Murphy in the 59th minute of play. Gordon Horgan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 61st minute of the match. Lautaro Mancebo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gordon Horgan read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 65th minute of play. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brion Murphy in the 66th minute of play. Joel Gaona sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gordon Horgan came out of the goal in the 71st minute to try and stop a shot by Mexico's Luca Zorita. But to his dismay, Luca Zorita quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tahsin Atacan, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brion Murphy in the 77th minute of play. Gordon Horgan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Gaona in the 80th minute of the match. After 81 minutes, Vehdi Abanoz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the COPERNICUS TORUŃ and the Mexico players grew even worse after the yellow card. 81 minutes into the game, one of COPERNICUS TORUŃ:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. COPERNICUS TORUŃ:s Gordon Horgan showed great skill when he stopped Joel Gaona:s penalty. Joel Gaona did an outstanding performance 83 minutes into the match, when he by himself got past the opposing team's defense and with a quick scored 1-3 to the right of an irritated Gordon Horgan in the goal. Alberto Tafalla struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Gordon Horgan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mexico. Gordon Horgan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luca Zorita's shot from short distance in the 91st minute. The Mexico fans' excitement grew in the 91st match minute when Mexico's Luca Zorita looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal.
