The supporters of Spartak das Kaldas booed when Honduras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luca Espinar didn't get a good kick on the ball. Spartak das Kaldas's Pedro Meira got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A sloppy throw-in by Eduardo Palhares in the 39th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Honduras's Luca Espinar. Edmundo Espiga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 43 minutes into the game, Edmundo Espiga cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Juliano Brito was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Edmundo Espiga stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute of the game Eduardo Palhares made a throw-in which Henrique Júdice played forward. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ilídio Valério in the 53rd minute of play forced Honduras's goalkeeper Lautaro Navarro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Spartak das Kaldas's Juliano Brito got control of the ball when Edmundo Espiga tried to sneak it across the goal line. Eduardo Palhares got a throw-in 58 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Henrique Júdice. Luca Espinar might have been able to make a better finish in the 59th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Juliano Brito. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luca Espinar ran back to his position shaking his head. Spartak das Kaldas's Avelino Meireles got his second yellow card of the match in the 61st minute. The referee ordered Avelino Meireles off the ground. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edmundo Espiga got free with Juliano Brito in the 63rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 64th minute, Edmundo Espiga left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Honduras fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. In the 71st minute, Moises Tafalla got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Pedro Meira during the 72nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
