In the 2nd minute, Jānis Blūms got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Leal Simões was left in no man's land by his defense there!
The wind increased when Daniel Zorita made the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Zoltán Tálas came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in KINGS FC's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leal Simões came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 87 minutes, Jānis Blūms managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. KINGS FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jānis Blūms was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cristian Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 95 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Antonio Arias. Cássio Calçada struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for KINGS FC. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Ecuador had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
