The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 15th minute, Magnus Björkqvist got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Walter Jönsson got free with Benito Sanz in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 32 played minutes Magnus Björkqvist rounded Costa Rica's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 2-0. Börge Backman kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. In the 43rd minute, Onsala Ass Kickers's Magnus Björkqvist dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-0. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Magnus Björkqvist in the 46th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Alan Moruga got a free kick in the 47th minute. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Walter Jönsson to make the kick off. Magnus Björkqvist received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Onsala Ass Kickers fully deserved thier win.
