Napalone surykatki's Pontus Jönsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 43rd minute of play. In the 44th minute of the game, Daniel Zorita landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. Bogdan Czermak's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bogdan Czermak helped the player get up and apologised. Bogdan Czermak hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Beniamin Jaraczewski in the 51st minute of the match. If Beniamin Jaraczewski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Thanks to some nice moves Luz Palacio could shoot a difficult shot in the 69th minute, which Pontus Jönsson however easily saved by the left post. Pontus Jönsson made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target. After 75 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Camilo Gisbert. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pawel Czysta in the 76th minute of the match. In the 79th minute, Camilo Gisbert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bogdan Czermak in the 80th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Many of Ecuador's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Ecuador may have spent more time on the ball, but Napalone surykatki were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
