Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Er Miner tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Daniel Zorita in the 10th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Er Miner saved Countdown FC from getting behind. Felix Montenegro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Er Miner tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Daniel Zorita scored 0-1 in the 16th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Er Miner, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 20th minute of the match Countdown FC got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Diguinho Rezende ran over to the corner to take the kick. Dida Carioca was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. In the 23rd minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Er Miner saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 25th minute, Washington Demartis fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Julio Vera, passed just outside the right post. Agustín Saelices fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Er Miner having to interfere. Er Miner showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Washington Demartis got free with Julio Vera in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Daniel Zorita might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Er Miner. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Daniel Zorita ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 39th minute of play forced Countdown FC's goalkeeper Er Miner to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Agustín Saelices hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. Er Miner showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 43th minute after Countdown FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. After 45 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Luis Andino. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniel Zorita made a kick off. In the 50th minute the ball was on its way in behind Countdown FC's goalkeeper Er Miner, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Countdown FC's zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Er Miner came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 54 played minutes Ecuador's Daniel Zorita stole the ball from his opponents and shot the ball towards the upper left corner, but Er Miner stretched himself as far as he could, and stopped the ball from passing the line. robbing Countdown FC of the goal. Ernani Valadares hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. After some careless play in the Countdown FC defense, Cristian Sancho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Er Miner. The Countdown FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Er Miner should have stopped the shot. 75 minutes into the match, Countdown FC's goalkeeper Er Miner had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristian Sancho. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Er Miner in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Er Miner made a fantastic save in the 84th minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target. Er Miner took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 86 minutes Countdown FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Daniel Zorita got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Er Miner quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Er Miner having to interfere. When Cristian Sancho came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Sancho couldn't finish the play. In the 94th minute Agustín Saelices shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Er Miner saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Er Miner made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Agustín Saelices in the 94th minute of play.
