Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 31 minutes into the match, Ismael Cordaro notched a goal, 0-4, to the right of Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso. Joaquin Gayoso was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a rather tough play, Uruguay's Maximiliano Escribano got a free kick in the 38th minute. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ismael Cordaro made a kick off. Joaquin Gayoso made a fantastic save in the 57th minute, when Hernan Cheche sent off a good shot on target. Joaquin Gayoso came out and tried to block the shot, but Ismael Cordaro slotted it home off the left post making it 0-7 in the 73rd minute. The corner ended in Steve Cruickshanks almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso did a great save. Uruguay's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ismael Cordaro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-8.
