An unexpectedly hard shot by Axel Tasis in the 41st minute of play forced Hille IF's goalkeeper Mats Ekrot to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Fred Bivall to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Costa Rica booed when Hille IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Per-Arne Rosendahl didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Hille IF's Gustaf Lidman got a free kick in the 83rd minute. Axel Tasis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Mats Ekrot tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fred Bivall in the 91st minute of play. Hille IF walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
