Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Daniel Zorita took the kick off in the first half of the match. Retumbante FC's Apat Reina played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 3rd minute of play. José Paulo Mendonça received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 12th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Apat Reina saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 15 minutes into the match, Cristian Sancho had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Apat Reina. Retumbante FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cristian Sancho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. 18 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Apat Reina narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Belmiro Mello in the 20th minute. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from José Paulo Mendonça, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. A nice corner shot did that Kauã Mandrak got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Julio Vera quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from José Paulo Mendonça in the 30th minute of play. Apat Reina made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 35th minute of play. After some careless play in the Retumbante FC defense, Daniel Zorita kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Apat Reina. The Retumbante FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Apat Reina should have stopped the shot. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Retumbante FC made a substitution. Jarbas Dantas replaced Basílio Cearense. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for José Paulo Mendonça to strike the kick off in the second half. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Apat Reina having to interfere. Retumbante FC's Apat Reina proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Retumbante FC from getting a goal against them. 55 minutes into the match, Daniel Zorita had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Apat Reina. Retumbante FC's Apat Reina proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 58th minute of the match, managed to save Retumbante FC from getting a goal against them. In the 59th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Daniel Zorita got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Apat Reina quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Daniel Zorita came free with the goalkeeper in the 61st minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Apat Reina could save by the left post. Apat Reina made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 62nd minute. In the 63rd minute Luis Andino suffered a foot injury and had to be helped off the field. Belmiro Mello's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Belmiro Mello helped the player get up and apologised. Ecuador made a substitution. Diego Mancebo replaced Luis Andino. In the 65th match minute, Retumbante FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Belmiro Mello to maneuver through the defense. 71 minutes into the match, Retumbante FC's goalkeeper Apat Reina had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristian Sancho. José Paulo Mendonça fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Retumbante FC's Kauã Mandrak got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Apat Reina made a fantastic save in the 93rd minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
