Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ernesto Piacentini in the 2nd minute of play. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Francesco Primavera, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lucjan Škarpa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. Ernesto Piacentini could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. In the 20th minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of S.C. Monte Marino booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristian Sancho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Elia Lepre showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 25th minute of the match. 28 minutes into the match, S.C. Monte Marino's Ernesto Piacentini sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Elia Lepre tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Monte Marino's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ernesto Piacentini was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 39th match minute, S.C. Monte Marino was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ferruccio Scivittaro to maneuver through the defense. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elia Lepre having to interfere. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Francesco Primavera stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Felix Montenegro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Elia Lepre tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Elia Lepre in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Elia Lepre was a little too slow when Daniel Zorita got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 57th minute. The score was now 0-1. In the 64th minute, Cristian Sancho fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Elia Lepre showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luis Andino, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. After having played for 73 minutes, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristian Sancho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 75 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Ernesto Piacentini came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Elia Lepre showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. S.C. Monte Marino's Ernesto Piacentini got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ernesto Piacentini sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
